Both Rwanda and Uganda offer incredible gorilla trekking experiences, but the choice depends on your preferences. Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park provides easier access with shorter drive times from Kigali and well-maintained trekking trails, but permits are higher in cost compared to Uganda. Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest offers a more rugged, off-the-beaten-path experience, often with a lower permit price, but treks can be more challenging due to dense vegetation and steeper terrain. If convenience and accessibility matter most, choose Rwanda; if you’re up for an adventurous, budget-friendly trek, Uganda is a great option
